Charité – Campus Mitte
The Campus Mitte is the historic birthplace of the Charité and one of the key sites of modern university medicine in Germany. Built more than 300 years ago on the outskirts of what was then Berlin, the campus has developed over time into an internationally recognised centre for patient care, medical research and teaching.
Today, the Charité Campus Mitte is situated in the heart of Berlin, close to the main railway station, the government district and Humboldt University. Its historic buildings and modernised high-rise ward block, with a total of 780 beds, shape the character of the site and make it a widely visible landmark.
