Interdisciplinary diagnostics and treatment across the different medical specialties and centres play a key role at Klinikum Ernst von Bergmann Potsdam, particularly in the care of complex internal, oncological, neurological and paediatric conditions.

A major focus is cancer medicine. The Oncological Centre, certified by the German Cancer Society, brings together the expertise of various medical specialties and professional groups. It includes certified organ cancer centres for breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, gynaecological tumours, head and neck tumours, neuro-oncological diseases and haematological neoplasms. Diagnostics, treatment planning, therapy and supportive services are coordinated on an interdisciplinary basis.

In neurology, the hospital also relies on specialised care structures. The certified supra-regional Stroke Unit focuses on the acute treatment of stroke and works closely with neuroradiology, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, nursing teams and therapeutic departments.

Paediatrics and adolescent medicine at the Potsdam site were fully integrated into Klinikum Ernst von Bergmann in 2026 and are being brought together in a dedicated Centre for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. The medical spectrum covers the care of children and young people up to the age of 18, including general paediatrics, neonatology, paediatric cardiology, diabetology, gastroenterology, pneumology, sleep medicine and further specialised paediatric services.
